Brief break in Devon

A few of you will now that we recently bought a house in Kingsbridge, Devon.  The house is rented out for the rest of the Summer so we took the opportunity for a few days away last week.  Here is Dora enjoying her first ride in a convertible.

So many wild flowers out at the moment.  This is the Estuary in Kingsbridge which is literally a 5 minute stroll from the house.

Head to Bantham Beach and take a left up towards the golf course.  Get to the top and walk along the edge of the cliffs, amazing views.  Carry on further for about 25 minutes alongside the golf course and you will see a littel path leading down to a cove.  You will be rewarded with a secluded beach all to yourself .072

Worth the drive, this is the Britannia on the Beach at Beesands.  Bring your own booze and feast on an array of freshly caught fish and seafood.  Here’s the view from our table one evening. Fabulous.

Bye Bye Bright Pink Wall.  A secluded little corner of the garden which is work in progress.  We planted a few pots with herbs and flowers for the guests going in over the summer.

The Ale House Toad Hall Cottages

A final stroll alongside the Estuary to stretch the legs, lovely.

If you’re heading to the South Hams in the not too distant future, the Bear & Blacksmith in Chillington is most definitely worth a visit.  The owners grow all their own vegetables. Delicious dish of lobster with chorizo and other good stuff which we ate there last week.
