A stylish hounds tooth wool blend coat from one of our longest standing Danish labels, Saint Tropez. Great for work or simply throwing over jeans like this. £129.95 and available in sizes XS-L (Ginny’s wearing an XS). A good length and useful black and white colour combination.
If you need an LBD then you need to come in and try this new Masai one on. Cut on the bias and stretchy, it’s a sure fire winner. Bias cut garments are extremely flattering on nearly all shapes and sizes. Just add jewellery for a night out or dress it down with a leather jacket and sneakers. It’s how you wear that makes it different. £97.00 in sizes XS-XL. Ginny is 5.7 and it’s the perfect length on her. A midi-length if you’re shorter and probably just above the knee if you’re taller.
Sometimes all you need is a simple top in a plain colour and here it is. A jersey drape top which fits around the hips and is just one-size. A flattering fit on most shapes and a bit of a bargain at £29.95. Available in 3 other colours (Ginny’s wearing the cream version). Telephone the shop for mail order or more details but make sure you don’t dilly dally as these are going to fly out.
I love the simplicity of this monochrome print. This is the Iselma blouse from Masai, £86.00 Ginny’s 5.7 so if you’re shorter you can wear it as a dress with bare legs and sneakers or with tights and flats/boots. Great A-line shape (as usual) and slightly oversized, Ginny’s wearing an XS and she’s a size 8. An easy piece to dress up or down.
In the window this week. Soft sweaters in soft colours. At least two people made the assumption that these were made from cashmere (that explains exactly how soft these feel) but they’re not. They’re a clever combination of viscose and other fibres. £68.00 They’re just one size to fit a size 8 – 14 and they’re very nice. The sort of garment you just throw on in the morning with your jeans. The scarves magically seem to co-ordinate too. £15.00 (Katherine’s a bit of a whizz at scarf tying by the way so if you need help with your scarf and different ways to wear it, just ask her).
It’s that time of year when all the big stores start displaying their Christmas wares (someone told me today that Christmas is all over the chocolate shelves of one major retailer). However, we’re not quite ready to bring in our Christmas present gear but we thought you might like a little taster of what’s to come. We’ve scoured the land and come up with what we think is a really different collection of gifts for the whole family and beyond.
Wooden light up letters, beautifuly packaged and a lovely little gift at £11.99
Really different gifts for the men in your life including this glitter beard kit amongst others!
Doormats with funny slogans (how we laughed when we found these!) £19.99
Plus here’s a taster of some fantastic animal themed cushions coming in, £19.99
and there’s plenty more to come too, we don’t want to blow our Christmas present game too early! Just a flavour to whet your appetite.
If there’s one thing I love more than anything it’s finding a brand which is different, not everywhere and ticks all our packaging and well priced for what it is boxes. This beautiful range of skincare is almost good enough to eat.
We are therefore delighted to say that the founder of this gem of a skincare brand is going to be in-store on Saturday 22nd October to tell us all about it, unveil her new additions to the range (including a cleanser) and answer any questions. If it’s good enough for Woodie & Morris it’s apparently good enough for John Lewis too (the range is going into Peter Jones very shortly, bit slow off the mark that lot). All MAKE purchases on the day will quality for a % discount and a gift with purchase (YAAY).
We’ll be marking the occasion in our usual fashion with a Somerset style apple Pimms drink called “Orchard Mist”, tasty titbits and a few other one-off surprises.
We hope to see you there!
