Ways with pottery

skoura pottery bowls

Bank holidays are for feasting aren’t they?  The weather was warm enough for a meal outside too.  I’m a big fan of mixing prints and patterns on the tableware front and this fabulous striped bowl (on sale at yours truly for £24.99) is a favourite as it’s the perfect size for most food. Some bowls are just too big and heavy.  The plates are an old purchase from a holiday in Portugal.  Flowers from the garden in a vase from a charity shop (a present from a neighbour who came for supper bearing home grown roses in the vase, lovely idea).

Talking of pottery it’s been a day of deliveries and we’re now re-stocked on these great mugs which make perfect presents at £4.99.  You’ll also spot a couple of new designs and the odd jug or two, these are slightly more at £7.99 and £15.99.  Pop in and check them out.

All finished off with a selection of new bamboo wraps in soft colours and some new 100% cashmere scarves and throws, £65.00  More present fodder or an opportunity for a spot of self-gifting.

That was a speedy delivery!

weaver green bags

That’s my holiday bag sorted!  You would never in a million years guess that these are made from recycled plastic bottles.  They have the look and feel of a basket but are much softer but fairly sturdy with leather handles.  They are divine. The bags are £45.00  Just two prints and quite a few colours.

weaver blankets

The blankets/throws are a really good size and a really good price, £40.00.  We love the soft prints and colours.  Firm enough to throw on the grass for a picnic but soft enough to throw over a sofa and perfect on a bed. Lovely.  Just a small order to test the water but delighted we found this innovative British brand.

How nifty are these bags and blankets?

Weaver Green bags and blankets

There’s a saying that “if you snooze you lose” and this is particularly true about this latest find.  We didn’t dilly dally when we spotted this new British brand and immediately placed an order for some of these gorgeous handbags and blankets (due in this week, fingers crossed).

What we really, really like about these is that they’re made from recycled plastic bottles.  The bags will retail at £45.00 and the blankets £40.00.  We can’t wait to get them into the shop and onto one of our dressers.

A rather delicious garment is on its way

saint tropez print cardigan

Hands up if you fancy one of these?  Not quite a jacket and not quite a cardigan but a combination of the two.  Where jacket meets knitwear with a splash of print.  From one of our most popular Danish brands, Saint Tropez, and due in shortly £49.99 (in a choice of two colours too).  Did you know that we have stocked this brand since we opened 7 years ago?  That says quite a lot about the quality.

Bank Holiday Opening (or not as the case may be)

We’re ready for the last Bank Holiday weekend of the year.  We’re open as usual on Saturday but closed on Sunday and Monday for a rest.  We re-open our doors on Tuesday at 9.30 a.m. sharp.

We hope you all have a fabulous weekend and see you next week.

When a jumper feels like sweatshirt a la Saint Tropez

sainttropez v neck blouse sweater

Fancy a soft, slouchy sweatshirt style top? Here you go…..longer at the back than the front in coral, silver grey or black, £34.99.  Pop it on before a school run, dog walk or dash around the supermarket, it’s that kind of super casual, super comfy all day top.  Just add jeans.

Back in stock again

vegan leather purses, bright colours

Back in stock by popular demand.  These £10 purses are proving to be a winner with all of you.  They look at least three times the prices and some of you have been buying them by the bucket load as Christmas presents (yes, there are a few of you who are very organised).  New colours include black, pale pink and turquoise.

It’s all about the colour block

yaya colour block sweater, beige

A best selling knitwear shape, the Kimono sweater,  from YAYA updated for the new season in a neutral colour block in soft cream and taupe.  The grey version sold out in record time so we managed to get our mitts on a few more in a different colour.  £65.00

The Masai delivery van has been again….

Masai Lenny Cardigan Grey

We’re pretty sure that one of the reasons why Masai is so popular is because of all of the pocket in their garments. They put pockets in everything including their knitwear which is really useful.  First out of the delivery box this morning is this gorgeous oversized Lenny cardigan in a rich grey.  We’ll be wearing and layering it up in all sorts of ways but it’s going to look good over a pencil skirt or jeans.  Simply slip over a basic long sleeve T-shirt, preferably in a crisp white.

Next up  is this Fioni tunic in a black and chestnut colour combination, again with hidden pockets on each side.  Super soft.  Wear as a dress or over black cigarette pants.  £97.00

A weather appropriate window

saint tropez sweatshirt jumper

A drizzly Friday calls for a new window.  Imagine a super soft fleecy sweatshirt fabric made into a V-neck jumper style?  That pretty much sums up this new Saint Tropez arrival. Grey, coralish or black are the colour options available at a very reasonable £34.99, the ideal item for a grey day.
